About our new club structure

Our club is implementing a new membership based model for 2016-17. This page attempts to answer some frequently asked questions about this new model and our programs more generally.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A MEMBERSHIP?
Enrollment in our club's new Player Development Program and a dri-fit training jersey, discounts on club gear, equipment and Athletic Academy memberships

WHAT IS THE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PDP)?
The PDP is a program that provides once-a-week technical training to all members* from November through June. Trainers will help players improve their ball skills.

*-Due to logistical complications, U10 and U12 boys also playing on a winter team will not be able to participate in the PDP during that session. They will receive a reduced fee for the winter team fee as a result. They will have access to the PDP in the spring. U10 or U12 boys will have access to the PDP in the winter any session they are not playing on a team.

CAN PLAYERS STILL PLAY ON TEAMS?
Absolutely. Because of the membership fee, the team fee will be lower than in previous years. You can still sign up for either indoor session, spring travel or any combination of the three. The more you sign up for, the more you save compared to previous years.

WILL THE PDP REPLACE TEAM PRACTICES?
No. Players on teams will still have practices with their teammates and coaches (once a week in winter, 1-3 times a week in spring).

WHAT ARE THE PDP AGE GROUPS?
U6, U8, U12 and U18. So we have options for all players between the ages of 5 through high school senior. If the U18 age group becomes too big, we may break that up into two smaller groups.

CAN PLAYERS SIGN UP ONLY FOR A TEAM AND NOT THE PDP?
While participation in the PDP is strongly encouraged, it is not mandatory. However, the membership fee cannot be waived.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE NEW MODEL?
By having players attend technical training sessions separately, it permits team coaches to spend a little more time on tactical training if they so choose. The PDP also provides training options for players who do not have time to commit to a team but still want to get some soccer action. It also provides additional training for team players who want more. In the past, we did not offer training options for older players who did not play on teams.

IS THE PDP MANDATORY?
The PDP is a little more flexible than teams. If you have to miss a couple of sessions, there are no teammates to be impacted. But since the purpose of the PDP is soccer education, we encourage players to attend as many sessions as they can.

DO I HAVE TO RE-REGISTER EVERY SESSION?
For the PDP, no. Registration is valid from the time you register until the end of June. Only teams operate on a session-by-session basis.

WILL IT COST ME MORE THAN THE PREVIOUS MODEL?
In the majority of cases, it will cost less. If you play one team session, it will cost you a little bit more... $10 in most cases. But with once-a-week technical training for six months, you get a lot more. If you play two or three team sessions, it will cost you substantially less money than in previous years... and you will get more!

DO I HAVE TO BUY A NEW JERSEY?
Only if you play on a spring travel team, Our previous jersey model is no longer in supply so all team players will have to buy a new red and white striped jersey (shirt, shorts and socks). A white dri-fit jersey is free, included with membership. This will be born by winter indoor team players for their games.

WHAT ABOUT THE AGE GROUP SET UP?
As you may have heard, US Youth Soccer has changed how it set up age groups. Previously, your age group for the entire season was based on your age group on August 1st. Now, it is based upon your age on January 1st. So for this year, age groups will be assigned based on the player's age is on January 1st, 2017.
